Insurance round up! 💫

Currently, these are all the options to pay for doula services using your insurance.

As the value of doulas is becoming more and more recognized, thanks to the associations, organizations and individuals advocating for access to doula care for all, at all levels of government, I’m hopeful more insurance companies will join this list.

For now, this is just for doula services. As I work toward being eligible to sit for the lactation boards, I am doing what I can to make lactation care just as accessible. I’m working with one insurance company on becoming an in-network provider, so keep your eyes peeled for that in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, sliding scale is always an option, as are extended payment plans for those who do have to pay out of pocket.

Winter classes are happening! Sign up is now live✨

We will be starting January 15th and spend six Wednesday evenings together learning about the physiology of birth, how to support it, what interventions are common and we’ll spend the last class diving into the basics of breastfeeding.

Nourishing tea 🫖 for pregnancy, postpartum and breastfeeding ✨

This tea is full of supportive herbs that will nourish your body as you nourish your baby.

Red raspberry leaf (2 parts)
Stinging nettle (2 parts)
Rose hips (1/2 part)
Spearmint (1/4 part)

Use 1/4 cup of loose leaf herbs to one quart of filtered water. Pour just boiled water over herbs and cover to steep for at least 15 minutes (thereby making a hot infusion).

Add honey as desired. Enjoy 🍃

PS Turns out you can also drink this tea if you’re not pregnant, postpartum or nursing. And maybe support your local herb shop while you’re at it! I get my bulk herbs at the ever enchanting Elder Apothecary @willow_anais

What I love about this benefit is that we get to customize the visits, meaning we can decide at which points during pregnancy or postpartum we want to have our visits. Anxious about birth and want more support during pregnancy? Let’s do it! Expect you’ll want more support after you have your baby? Awesome! Want to split it 50/50? I’m down for that too.

I am beyond psyched that doula care is becoming more and more accessible. Having a doula by your side is a game changer when you are welcoming a baby into your family. And having a doula that’s also a lactation counselor is just a nice fringe benefit, wouldn’t you say?
