If community classes are not quite what you are looking for, or you want a childbirth education class specifically tailored to your unique situation and wishes, I can design a custom course for you or teach the standard course in the comfort of your own home. Private classes are held either in your home, or in my Ashland office. Locations for in-home classes are limited to my service area (see FAQs). Your spouse, partner or support person is of course more than welcome to attend these classes with you.

With private classes, you first reach out to me. I will send you a form containing all the possible subjects we can include in your classes. After this has been submitted, I will review your needs and come up with a quote. This will include the total number of classes we will need as well as the total price. If you choose to accept the offer, the payment is due at commencement of classes.

Private classes may contain any of the subjects that community classes offer, or they may solely focus on just a few. Whatever your situation or your need, your course will be entirely built around you. Should you already have a child/children, you can choose to add a mini lesson to your classes that is specifically designed for your child(ren). Your child(ren)’s age, your chosen birth space and life with a newborn may all be incorporated into the mini lesson.

Closed group childbirth classes

I also offer closed group childbirth classes. If you want to have classes with your pregnant friend(s), or want to include more people in your classes than just your partner, closed group classes can be a great option!

These classes will contain all the main topics that community classes cover. The three main themes will serve as a red thread throughout the lessons, although I will leave out any subjects that are not relevant to you. For example, if you are planning a hospital birth with your OB, I will not go into what to expect for a home birth attended by a midwife. With more than one pregnant participant, I will differentiate between your chosen approaches and visions for your individual births, where applicable. Closed group classes may be held at one of the participants’ home, or I can arrange for a private location to hold our classes. When I provide you with a custom quote for your classes following our consultation, I will include a price for both in the quote.
